Rocket Booster is an innovation initiative promoted by PCI – Creative Science Park Aveiro Region, in partnership with startUP23, with the support of Turismo de Portugal.
Designed to strengthen the tourism innovation ecosystem, Rocket Booster operates through two complementary programs — Acceleration and Open Innovation — connecting startups, corporates, investors and mentors around real challenges and real impact.
Rocket Booster focuses on solutions that improve the tourism journey — from planning to post-visit — creating more connected, efficient and personalized experiences for travelers and tourism operators.
A 1-month high-intensity acceleration program designed to help startups advance their product, increase their Technology Readiness Level (TRL), enter the market and prepare for investment.
The program combines workshops, hands-on work and 1:1 mentoring to help startups strengthen their product, validate their business model and prepare for growth.

A corporate–startup collaboration program designed to develop and test solutions for real challenges in the tourism industry.
The program starts with two co-creation bootcamps, where startups and corporate partners design pilot projects together, followed by three months of pilot implementation in real environments.
Discovery – Pilot Design – Pilot Development
Startups in this program will work on real challenges brought by tourism organizations.
Improving operational efficiency and guest experience through automation, AI and integrated digital tools.
Creating more personalized and seamless travel experiences through data, digital platforms and smart itinerary management.
Enhancing visitor engagement through digital storytelling, immersive experiences and smart visitor management.
Developing tools to monitor visitor flows and environmental impact in coastal tourism destinations such as Barra and Costa Nova

The startup must operate within the tourism sector.
The startup must have at least one product ready to be tested or implemented in the market.
Startups from any location are eligible to apply, but those from the Portuguese ecosystem are strongly encouraged.
